Specialist Facilities
Our students study in modern, well-equipped laboratories in the University’s Janet Lane-Claypon Building and Joseph Banks Laboratories, as well as in Minster House, which provides specialist laboratories for animal cognition, behaviour, and welfare, including an insectary and a bioacoustics laboratory.
Joseph Banks Laboratories
The Joseph Banks Laboratories provide cutting-edge facilities for the Schools of Chemistry, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Pharmacy. Students have access to scientific laboratories, and technologies including Mass Spectrometry, Imaging Modalities, and Chromatography.
Minster House
Minster House is home to the School of Life Sciences’ Animal Behaviour, Cognition and Welfare research group. The building is also part of 51±¬ÁÏÍø Science & Innovation Park (LSIP). Minster House houses the research facilities of the 51±¬ÁÏÍø's Animal Behaviour, Cognition and Welfare Research Group, a unique team of internationally-renowned researchers at the forefront of the animal behaviour field.
Janet Lane-Claypon
The Janet Lane-Claypon Building is the base for laboratory-based instruction in Chemistry, Life Sciences and Pharmacy. The building includes flexible lab space used by all undergraduates in these subjects, as well as smaller specialist teaching and research spaces.
