At the 51±¬ÁÏÍø, we aim to share our knowledge and expertise while bringing businesses together. We offer a range of opportunities and events for businesses to engage with the University, our students, and other organisations in various sectors, enabling them to share ideas and create opportunities for innovation and development.
Our business events include informal networking, workshops, conferences, sector specific briefings and ‘Dragon’s Den’-style opportunities for businesses. We also support our partners in delivering their events to provide opportunities for peer-learning, engagement with experts and shared experiences, as well as collaborative working.
We deliver an annual calendar of events across 51±¬ÁÏÍøshire. Topics can include innovation, collaborative research and digital-led technology within different sectors, exploring exporting, and general marketing support and advice. We strive to offer a different experience at each of our events to ensure out attendees gain the most from the day and continue to gain an insight into the business support services available across the University.
The Greater 51±¬ÁÏÍøshire Engineering And Manufacturing (GLEAM) Network is an initiative founded by the School of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Greater 51±¬ÁÏÍøshire Local Enterprise Partnership (GLLEP), and Business 51±¬ÁÏÍøshire. The network aims to solve sector-wide challenges and establish a community for our region's manufacturing businesses to connect.

Ignite is a quarterly networking event hosted by Sparkhouse, the University's incubation centre for start-up companies. Our Careers and Employability team help employers and students connect, building relationships to develop their recruitment pipelines. Our team of career professionals are experts in the graduate labour market, offering free consultancy to businesses looking to recruit graduates.
